Previous to the first edition of The Coast Guardsman's Manual in1952, The Navy Bluejackets' Manual (BJM) was used by Coast Guardmen. Supplemental chapters dealing with Coast Guard exclusive subjects were often printed and distributed at Recruit Training Centers. Here is an example from USCGRTC Alameda.
